SITE LAYOUT & GROUND CONDITIONS

The festival arena is roughly a large rectangle, with the Main Stage at one end, and the other large indoor stages located evenly around the perimeter. Food stalls, bars, merchandise, market stalls and other facilities are spread around the arena and campsite areas. The ground is farmland, used for grazing and generally level but uneven. As at all festivals, in wet weather the ground can become muddy.

The Guest List located just off Richfield Avenue, next the Box Office. The Guest List is open from 11am until 9pm every day from Thursday until Sunday. Please note that if you arrive outside these times, you will not be able to collect your passes or access your campsite. OíMalley Alley leads from the guest list to Piccadilly Circus.

Piccadilly Circus is a hard rough ground area which junctions off to:
1) The guest / disabled campsite
2) The main arena via Lima Gate
3) OMalley Alley - the route to Richfield Avenue
4) The public campsite & market area.

A number of other facilities are located around Piccadilly Circus - the 24 hour Medical Centre,
Police Station, Welfare team, information tent, public phones & cash point.

Lima Gate is an access route for disabled people & their assistants, which enables them to enter the arena without going through the Arena Entrance. Youíll need a Disabled Access Wristband to use this gate. Occasionally this gate may be temporarily closed by security.

CAMPSITE & PARKING

Camping/parking for disabled people is in the same field as guest camping/parking and is open from Thursday until Monday. Parking becomes very crowded, and if you arrive late in the weekend, or need to leave site during the weekend, we cannot ëholdí a space for you. All parking is on grass. Parking is separate from camping, but very close by.
Due to the associated fire risks it is a condition of our licence that cars and tents be separated.
Up to three people may camp with each disabled customer, with one car per group.

We restrict numbers so we can offer space to all those disabled people who require it.
If you wish to camp in a larger group, you are of course free to do so in any of the public campsites. Please be considerate in pitching tents & parking, do not block cars in and leave space for people to transfer into/out of wheelchairs. If you park close to the toilets & showers, the wet waste vehicles cannot access the units to empty and clean them. There is an electrical hook up point for electric wheelchairs near the toilets / showers. Attitude is Everything run a disabled persons information tent in the Disabled Persons campsite ñ look out for them, stop by & say hello!

DISABLED ACCESS WRISTBANDS

All members of the party will receive access to the disabled campsite and Lima Gate.

In addition, if agreed in advance, disabled customers will receive access for themselves and one PA to the viewing platforms. We are unable to accommodate whole families or groups of friends on the platforms. The area around the viewing platform is usually busy with the extended main stage audience.

TOILETS

We have at least one adapted toilet at each toilet block in the arena, one at each viewing platform, one at Welfare and several in the disabled campsite.

RIVERMEAD CENTER FACILITIES

The Rivermead Leisure Center is located on Richfield Avenue; it has a heated indoor swimming pool, a cafeteria and a small childrens play area all on the ground floor level. During the festival it is open to festival goers between 8am and 4.30pm. The entrance is level and there are two fully adapted disabled toilets in the lobby that may be accessed free of charge by showing your Disabled Access wristband. One toilet is located in a room large enough be used to wash and change in, and the sinks have hot & cold water. There are two other ladies shower rooms and one gents shower room available for use, although the entrance doors are narrow for wheelchair users.

VIEWING PLATFORMS

You will require a Disabled Access Wristband to access the viewing platforms. These platforms are solely for the use of disabled people and their PAs. Crew, press, guests and staff are not permitted on them. We have viewing platforms at all stages. The Main Stage platform will have an access ramp at a gradient of 1:12. There will be lighting on the ramp, an adapted toilet at its base, and loose seating for PAs. There is no shelter on the Main Stage viewing platform. Through a project organised by Attitude is Everything and Oxfam, we have a number of disabled stewards working on the viewing platforms.

There will be use of laser and strobe lights at the event, proceeded by announcements from the stage. Anyone affected by lighting effects should allow sufficient time to leave the viewing platform before effects begin,  please bear in mind the audience may be very large and movement through the crowd slow. To accommodate all our disabled customers and maintain space for people to manoeuvre, the number of friends/PAs on the platform will be strictly limited to one per person.
